Tarek El-Sadany was appointed senior vice president and chief technology officer at Iris Financial Solutions.

Mr. El-Sadany was most recently vice president of global product support at Oracle, where he led firm's servicing of more than 240,000 customers across 370 products. At Iris he will lean on his experience at Oracle as a way to build up the firm's existing product line-up.

Last fall, Iris officials planned on creating a pared-down version of its Iris Trade Manager software for hedge fund managers Previous HedgeWorld Story.

"Tarak's experience building technology organizations in billion dollar companies and delivering to world-class customers will be invaluable as we bring our front- and middle-office solutions to the leading global financial services firms and do it faster than heretofore possible," said Michele McGovern, Iris' chief executive, in a statement.
